Whot Arena (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a multiplayer and offline Whot card game experience. This policy is specifically for the Whot Arena app and the backend services that power online play.

Whot Arena is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

By creating an account or using online features, you confirm you are old enough to use the service under applicable law.

We collect only what is needed to run the game and keep online play fair and secure.

Account and profile

• Email address and password (when you register)
• Display name
• Guest session identifiers and a display name if you play as a guest (guest accounts use a synthetic internal email; they are not used to contact you)
• Authentication tokens used to keep you signed in

Gameplay and social data

• Online match activity: rooms, challenges, games, tournament participation, presence (“online”), and outcomes needed to run multiplayer
• Leaderboard and points data associated with your account (display name, wins, games played, points)
• Integrity and abuse-prevention signals derived from gameplay (for example, flags for review). These are used to protect the service, not for advertising

Device-local data (stored on your device)

• Session token and cached profile for signed-in play
• Guest profile so you can resume without signing in again
• Offline solo stats (games played / wins) and preferences such as sound on/off

Device-local data is stored using the platform secure storage APIs (for example, Android Keystore-backed storage via Expo SecureStore). It is not sold and is not used for ads.

Diagnostics related to app updates

• When checking for over-the-air (OTA) updates or reporting update failures, limited technical/error information may be sent to our update infrastructure at ota.whotarena.com so we can deliver updates and diagnose problems

Data we do not collect

• We do not show third-party advertising in the app
• We do not collect precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs, photos, or microphone/camera content
• We do not collect advertising identifiers for ads, and we do not sell personal or sensitive user data
• We do not link persistent hardware identifiers (such as IMEI, IMSI, or SIM serial) to your account or other personal data
• Local notification permission may be requested only to show in-app challenge alerts on your device; we do not upload push tokens to a third-party marketing platform

We use the data described above to:

• Create and secure your account, and authenticate online sessions
• Operate multiplayer matches, tournaments, presence, and leaderboards
• Prevent cheating, abuse, and fraud, and to keep the service reliable
• Deliver app updates and fix update-related failures
• Respond to your privacy or support requests
• Comply with law and enforce our terms

We do not use your personal data for personalized advertising, and we do not sell personal or sensitive user data.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate Whot Arena:

• Other players: your display name and public competitive stats (for example leaderboard standings, presence in lobby/rooms, and in-match identity) are visible to other players as part of normal gameplay
• Our infrastructure: game and account data are processed on our servers (including API and realtime hosts serving api.whotarena.com) and related databases we operate or control
• Update / observability hosting: OTA update manifests, assets, and limited diagnostic events may be processed via our self-hosted update stack at ota.whotarena.com
• Service providers: we may use infrastructure providers (hosting, storage, networking) acting as processors under our instructions. They are not permitted to sell your personal data from the app
• Legal / safety: we may disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect users, the public, or Whot Arena
• Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will provide legally adequate notice where required

App distribution platforms (Google Play / Apple App Store) process install and purchase metadata under their own policies when you download the app from those stores.

We transmit personal and sensitive data using modern cryptography (HTTPS / TLS). Passwords are stored hashed on our servers (not in plain text). Session tokens and local prefs are kept in platform secure storage on device where available.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately at [email protected].

We retain account and gameplay records for as long as your account remains active and as needed to operate leaderboards, tournaments, anti-abuse, and legal compliance. Offline solo stats remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall.

When you delete your account, we delete associated personal data as described in Account deletion, except limited records we must keep for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations (for example, short-lived audit logs). Freezing or disabling an account is not a substitute for deletion.

You can:

• Sign out of the app (clears the signed-in session from the device)
• Adjust local preferences such as sound
• Request deletion of your Whot Arena account and associated personal data — see Account deletion

Google Play requires apps that offer account creation to provide account deletion both in the app and on a public web page. Use the web instructions above, or email [email protected] from the email address on your account.

We may process data in countries where we or our infrastructure providers operate. If you use the app from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we handle personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection law. Contact [email protected] to exercise rights such as access, correction, or erasure where those rights apply.

The marketing site at www.whotarena.com is a public informational site. It does not require login to view this Privacy Policy. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing data from this page.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL with a revised effective date. Material changes will be highlighted here or communicated in the app when appropriate. Continued use of the app after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
